Expansion & Control Joint Sealing in Melbourne

Concrete moves — joints are how a structure copes with it, and sealant is what keeps those joints watertight and protected. Gapless seals expansion and control joints in slabs, warehouse floors, walls and pavements with the sealant class the movement and traffic actually require.

Joint sealing we do

Warehouse & factory floors

Traffic-rated sealants that protect joint edges from forklift wheels and keep floors cleanable.

Slabs, driveways & pavements

External joints sealed against water — the cheapest protection a slab edge gets.

Walls & structures

Vertical movement joints in concrete and masonry, including precast panel joints and brickwork articulation joints.

Re-sealing old joints: a large share of our joint work is cutting out failed sealant and re-doing it properly — correct backer rod, correct depth ratio, a sealant matched to the movement. If your joints have split, de-bonded or gone hard, send photos through the quote form.

Joint sealing — frequently asked questions

What's the difference between an expansion joint and a control joint?

A control joint is a deliberate weak line that tells concrete where to crack as it shrinks; an expansion joint is a full-width gap that lets slabs or walls move without pushing against each other. Both need a flexible sealant that keeps water and debris out while allowing the movement to happen.

Why seal floor joints in a warehouse?

Unsealed floor joints collect debris, chip at the edges under forklift traffic, and let water through. A traffic-rated joint sealant protects the joint edges (arris) and gives a smooth, cleanable floor. The sealant must suit the traffic — soft sealants fail fast under hard wheels.

How much does joint sealing cost?

It depends on lineal metres, joint width and depth, whether old sealant must be cut out first, and the sealant class required. Send the details through the quote form for a free price.
